Here’s a sure-fire plan for misery: chase others’ dreams in place of your own. Marching in someone else’s parade is not good for anyone. It robs the Larger Story of YOU.

Dreams. They’re personal … between you and the Creator.

You don’t need to be a hero. The big man.

You have the chance to walk with everyone else in the journey, appreciating the diversity of it all …

You want to fight your fight.

We all do.

Should we make resolutions and set goals? Sure. But it’s smart to intentionally place them in the larger setting of STORY. Our lives are a series of smaller stories (sub-plots) composed into our personal LIFE STORY.

A key part of our happiness is to be creative. Creativity and happiness seem to go together. Why? I believe it’s because we were designed in this fashion.

But it’s even more than that. If our creativity is self-absorbed, the outcome will not be happiness. Our quest must be to create for the benefit others. And in that, we benefit ourselves.

A recent commencement address at Wellesley High School in Massachusetts went viral. English teacher David McCullough Jr. said, “Selflessness is the best thing you can do for yourself.” Counter-intuitive, but happiness is that way.

We each have unique ways to add value … even multiply value. We then reap blessing and happiness as we sow value.
