Sex Makes Free!

“Sex makes free.” (Famous graffiti appearing in Berkeley, CA in the 1960′s … parody of the Nazi slogan, Arbeit macht frei, or “Work makes free,” a phrase placed over the entrance of a number of Nazi concentration camps during WWII)

But where’s the promised freedom? … Lack of fulfillment, an unsatisfied craving for more, damaged relationships, corruption, addiction, sexual crimes, and of course children and adults who are abused, used, and even enslaved and trafficked.

[At the end of this post you will see information about how Alfred C. Kinsey's sex studies have been shown to be fraudulent and even criminal.  Yet, his influence dramatically shaped our culture and helped to set the stage for the "sexual revolution."]

Why?  Why this pain and confusion?  To suppress the truth, to dampen down the knowledge of God gives rise to darkness, opening the door to disorder in our personal world.  It also unleashes chaos in society.

For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened (Rom. 1:16 ESV).

It’s Simply About Elegant Design

God’s Son came to restore all things – including sex and marriage.  Jesus told the religious leaders of his day, “From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female … so they are no longer two but one flesh.  What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate” (Mark 10).

God’s no killjoy.  Have you read the Song of Solomon?  Bible translators are modest.  It’s God-breathed, red-hot oriental love poetry.

The Creator is into pleasure and peace.  It’s is a design issue.  The opportunity we have is to harmonize the beauty and power of sex with the Creator’s design.  It’s the proven pathway to fulfillment and authentic freedom.

Timing.  The right season in life … the season of marital love.  To violate the principle of seasons is to live inaccurately.

Context.  The right relationship … committed marriage.  The best sex rests on the bed of covenant.

Fidelity.  Mental, emotional, and physical faithfulness … between husband and wife.

It’s an amazing gift to us from our Creator.  What if our sexuality is related to something much bigger – a Sacred Romance between heaven and earth?

Could it be that Jesus Christ is supreme over all reality, including human sexuality?  And is it true that the way to life, liberty, and fulfillment in all things is the supremacy of God’s Son?

The Flawed and Criminal Kinsey Sexual Studies

Source:  How Alfred C. Kinsey’s Sex Studies Have Harmed Women and Children

Dr. Alfred C. Kinsey was a zoologist (! I wonder if these studies come from a Darwinist worldview?) at Indiana University.  His book Sexual Behavior in the Human Male rocked in the nation in 1948.  In 1953 he released Sexual Behavior in the Human Female.  His sexual studies have now been shown to be flawed and even involved the cover-up of child rape.

And yet, his research has unfortunately been a powerful influence upon academics, law, and the culture.  We’ve been sold a bill of goods about human sexuality!  Dr. Judith Reisman and Edward Eichel revealed the error of Kinsey’s studies in Kinsey, Sex and Fraud: The Indoctrination of a People in 1990.  Here’s the review of Kinsey, Sex and Fraud in the medical journal Lancet:

“The important allegations from the scientific viewpoint are imperfections in the (Kinsey) sample and unethical, possibly criminal, observations on children. … Dr. Judith A. Reisman and her colleagues demolish the foundations of the two (Kinsey) reports.”

Consider a sampling of Kinsey’s bias and absurdities.  From his interviews, Kinsey reported that women in America were either sexually repressed (married) or highly promiscuous.  Here’s the truth, though, on the research:

Kinsey’s research denigrated motherhood

“The Kinsey team allegedly recorded the sexual conduct of a total of 7,789 women in their sample, but the only births recorded were from single women … and children born through adulterous unions. … Kinsey gave no data on normal marital birth, no data on normal mothers.” (Judith A. Reisman, Ph.D., Kinsey: Crimes & Consequences (Arlington, Virginia: Institute for Media Education), 1998, p. 111)

Misrepresenting the “married” sample

“Kinsey’s team had difficulty persuading married women to talk about their most intimate experiences, so he inflated the numbers of ‘married’ women by including ‘untold numbers of sexually unconventional women as married.’”  According to Kinsey, “They were identified as married if they were living with their spouses either in formally consummated legal marriages, or in common-law relationships which had lasted for at least a year.” As Dr. Reisman writes, “Since the Kinsey team did not insist that ‘married’ women be exclusively with one man, their definition of ‘married’ could include the large population of prostitutes the team interviewed if they lived with their pimps.” (Reisman, p. 114)

Letting off child molesters

“With his benign view of child sexual abuse, Kinsey became an activist on behalf of child molesters. In 1949, for example, he testified before the California General Assembly’s Subcommittee on Sex Crimes, urging them to liberalize sex offense statutes. He argued specifically for granting immediate paroles to suspected child molesters, and warned that societal ‘hysteria’ does more harm to children than the actual molestations.” (Testimony, op cit., cited in Kinsey, Crime & Consequences, p. 213, and Kinsey’s female volume, p. 121)

“Kinsey wrote: ‘It is difficult to understand why a child, except for its cultural conditioning, should be disturbed at having its genitalia touched, or disturbed at seeing the genitalia of other persons, or disturbed at even more specific sexual contacts.’” (Sexual Behavior in the Human Female, p. 121)
