“I am the resurrection and the life. Now.”
We can all live a new life … a life which is far beyond imagination.
Raising someone (or something) to life — resurrection life — now that is a showcase of God’s energy!
Lazarus was sick and died. He was entombed for 4 days. And yet the first thing Jesus says to his sister is, “Your brother shall rise again.”
What Martha did not know was that Jesus was ready to radically shift her perception and experience.
She said, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”
But Jesus is about to reinterpret Martha’s understanding of the resurrection. Interpretation is such a big thing.
Jesus’ forte: He causes us to reinterpret everything
So much of the interior work Jesus does in our lives has to do with helping us to see in a different way. To think in a new way. To believe.
Martha’s thinking about resurrection life was narrow and confined to the future. For most of us, this is the case.
Jesus was about to shift her perception and experience in a big way.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Jesus wants her to realize the resurrection is already on! New possibilities are now offered!
Invest some time in John 11:17-44.
Take away the stone!
Jesus: “Take away the stone.”
Martha: “Lord, by this time …”
Jesus: “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
If you are a Christian, an authentic Christ-follower — and as you are developing as an “apprentice of His kingdom” — have you realized that Christ’s resurrection power resides in you?
It’s a matter now of …
- A more accurate alignment with heaven
- Outrageous, radical belief
- The release and unhindered flow of the life of Christ thru you
Through the strong desire to see the glory of God, the power of God is available to trump the effects of the Fall – sin, sickness and disease, lack, breakdown of relationships … even death itself.
It’s wonderful that the full effect of the resurrection life of Christ will come to the planet (like Martha was thinking about it).
Can you believe it is already here as a foretaste of what is to come? What can this mean for you? Will you see the glory of God?
