I love sensing the promise of a fresh morning. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to come to a place in our journey where everyday life felt like morning again?
It’s morning again. Live consistently in the promise of a new day.
A lot of our life may feel like a mid-afternoon slump when the floor seems to drop out beneath us. Or the exhaustion of a late midnight hour.
Life is more than just our physical state though. Our real life force flows from the inner man into our life experience. Can we get “morning” deep within ourselves?
Meditate on these truths which highlight the promise of continually living in the hope of a fresh morning. Release a fresh mindset and attitude throughout your personal world.
The Sunrise from on High
Jesus Christ dawns upon us with the promise of morning. He is the Sunrise who has visited us …
“To give to His people the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, with which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 2:77-79).
A Sun and Shield
All life on earth is dependent upon the solar sun. The Lord is the Ultimate Sun. And he is our shield …
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!” (Psalm 84:11-12).

Morning again: fresh compassion
Every morning there is fresh lovingkindness and compassion radiating to us from above. We can live with a sense of a new morning all the time!
“This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:21-23).
The Morning Star rising in your heart
Ultimately, the Day of Christ will dawn in its completeness when He comes, but even now we can experience his Day within our being—Christ as the Morning Star rises in our hearts …
“We have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).
Look for God’s activity … look for “the day which the Lord has made.”
Arise and shine
Christ is our light. He has dawned upon us! We can live in the spirit of a new day 24/7/365. We can begin to reflect his light now throughout our personal world and the world-at-large.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14).
Rejoice and be glad!
Jesus is the foundation of the future—the chief corner stone. Look for God’s activity. The “day which the Lord has made” is the time of his activity in your life. Rejoice!
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:22-24).
