And the Greatest Entrepreneur of All Time Is …

greatest entrepreneur of all time

Where would we be without entrepreneurs? What would the world be like? I don’t think we would be happy with the state of things.

Can everyone be entrepreneurial? Obviously there are entreprenuers who are extraordinary. Exceptional. We should be thankful for them.

But I would like to sow the idea that everyone should be entreprenuerial …

It’s an exciting and hopeful approach to life. “Entrepreneur” comes from the French meaning one who undertakes (a task or enterprise); behind the French, the Latin source word means to take.

How could our lives be different if we were more entrepreneurial?

Risking, Stepping Forward, Seizing

An entrepreneur is one who steps out and steps forward with energy and strategy to seize what they see as an opportunity, risking failure to accomplish something of worth.

Where would we be without the imagination, courage, and work ethic of entrepreneurs? Let’s think about it … publishing, transportation, medicine, education, communications, technology, personal computing, the world-wide web, nation-building. Just several macro areas like this shows we would be living at much lower levels without entrepreneurship.

See my post Becoming Entrepreneurial in Life, Work, and Ministry.

Being entrepreneurial is a mind-set and heart-set which applies to our personal lives too. Is there not a real sense in which a young man is entrepreneurial when he steps forward and asks for her hand in marriage?

And that business initiative? What about multiplying value by helping those who desperately need what we can do. We can accomplish much with a beginner’s mind!

Lets rise up to take ownership of things, creating new realities – there are services, products, resources, and causes waiting for an entrepreneurial touch.

And the Greatest Entrepreneur of All Time?

I’m saying it’s Jesus Christ …

He stepped up and stepped out in a fathomless way – he gave it all so that those who received Him could begin anew. His enterprise is restoring all things throughout creation and on a cosmic scale.

Q4U: So what about it? What’s the state of entrepreneurship today? How can we become entrepreneurial on a personal level as well as on a macro level? What’s holding you back?
