Penny and I are on a new, healthy eating plan, and it’s paying dividends. Even so, at times, there is a strong temptation to revert to past patterns we have known for a long time. My wife was having one of these temporary episodes last evening. (Believe me, I’ve had my own!)
But she said, “I need to read again about this new style of eating.” She was right. I once heard a leader say that whenever he loses some steam about a project he’s working on, he will sit down at a large desk or table and spread everything out — all of the plans and paperwork related to his project. Soon the fire returns.
We all know there are times we need to inspire ourselves. Or at least place ourselves in a position where we can be inspired by others.
Great quotes can really help. The reason they’ve found such resonance with people, is they speak to real issues, they are brief … and somehow we find ourselves “echoing” what has been said.

You’ll enjoy this stellar collection of 50 inspiring quotes about doing the impossible — from history as well as our time. Source: Impossible.
Because we’re created in God’s likeness, we can do much more than we normally think. Much, much more. There is a spark of creativity and victory within each of us.
For the authentic Christ-follower, this goes to a much higher level. Jesus said, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26) and “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).
There is no ceiling in Christ!
Bruce Wilkinson encourages us that challenges are calling us to step up. They are an invitation to become someone we’ve never been before … to do something we’ve never done before … to achieve something at a new, more expansive level. See my post: Your Vision in Challenging Times.
Will you do the impossible?
Take a moment and reflect: what are the 2 or 3 most challenging issues you’re facing right now. Will you think in an alternate way about them? Will you dig deep and call upon the resources within you? Even more, will you call upon the resources of Christ?
