The Value of One Minute

I’ve only just a minute, only sixty seconds in it.

Forced upon me, can’t refuse it, didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,

But it’s up to me to use it.

I must suffer if I lose it, give an account if I abuse it,

Just a tiny little minute, but eternity is in it.

Benjamin E. Mays lived with a conviction about the sacredness of time – even one minute of time.  How could our lives change if we had the same belief?

Einstein said, “Never Lose a Holy Curiosity”

Faith is trust. It’s obedience. Without works, faith is dead (James 2). There’s more though …

It’s amazing when we consider to whom Jesus gave his highest praise as he looked for faith. It wasn’t to Peter nor any disciple. It certainly was not to the religious establishment in Jerusalem—Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, scribes, and priests.

It was to a Gentile Roman centurion who understood how authority worked (alignment) and how it was released through commanded speech (Matthew 8).
